Property is first Orlando residential high rise with 1 Gig service
(Orlando, FL) June 1, 2016 – Summit Broadband, a premier provider of high-speed internet, telephone, and television service to select communities in central and Southwest Florida, is pleased to announce the introduction of industry-leading 1 gig (1,000 X 1,000 megabits per second) high-speed internet service, as well as high-definition television service, to residents of The Vue, a 36-story, 375-unit high luxury condominium development located in downtown Orlando. This is the first downtown residential high rise to have 1 gig service in Orlando.
“We’re very excited to be able to bring this industry-leading fiber-optic service to The Vue,” said Mark Lipford, Summit Broadband Chief Operating Officer. “Partnering with a luxury condominium development like this will allow residents to have an online experience that is faster and more dependable than ever before, no matter where they are on the property.”
More than half of the residents have already signed up and are enjoying the benefits that come from Summit Broadband’s 1 gig high-speed internet, as well as high-definition television service and 5-tuner DVR.
Darrell Harbin, Chief Operating Officer for the Orlando Predators and resident of The Vue, is one of those residents. “The service is great! I have a lot more channels than before,” Harbin said. “The HD TV picture is much more high quality than I’ve previously seen. Plus, with 1 gig, the internet is so much faster.”
In addition to high-speed internet and high-definition television service available directly to the home, residents will also be able to take advantage of 1 gig internet speeds in The Vue’s common areas, such as the Cyber Café and business center, gym, and outdoor recreational facilities.
Summit Broadband continues to expand coverage in both central and southwest Florida, with over 785 miles of fiber installed and operational in Florida. “Being ahead of the curve through the introduction of 1 gig high-speed internet to properties like The Vue is crucial for customers whose bandwidth needs continue to increase,” Lipford continued.
